Aisha Tyler was born in San Francisco, CA on September 18, 1970. Her parents were divorced and she was raised by her father. A self professed improv junkie Aisha regularly cut high school to attend improv classes. After graduating from J. Eugene McAteer School of the Arts in San Francisco, she enrolled at Dartmouth University where she continued to perform sketch and theater. Aisha graduated with a degree in Political Science and she minored in Environmental Policy.

Aisha started working as an advertising executive in San Francisco after she graduated but realized that the corporate world wasn’t for her. She decided to work in comedy full time, working clubs and colleges in thirty states before settling in Los Angeles.

Aisha's tv guest appearances include "Nash Bridges," "The Pretender" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." In 2003 Aisha had a recurring role in the NBC series "Friends." During the 2004-2005 television season Aisha had recurring roles in C.S.I. and 24. Aisha currently stars in the CBS series "Ghost Whisperer."

Aisha's film credits include "Dancing In September" and "The Santa Clause 2." She wrote, produced, directed and starred in the independent film short "The Whipper."

Aisha won an NAACP Image Award for her work in the critically acclaimed play "Moose Mating." She has contributed articles to Glamour and Jane magazines and to the book "This Day in the Life of American Women."

Aisha gained widespread recognition when she started hosting "Talk Soup" on E! Entertainment. She also hosted the reality dating show "The 5th Wheel."

Aisha lives in Los Angeles with her husband Jeff Tietjens.
