April Grace was born in Lakeland, Florida on May 12, 1962 . At the age of 16 she moved with her family to Saudi Arabia and later attended the London Central High School in England. After moving back to the United States she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. After graduation she moved to New York City where she became a founding member of the Art and Work Ensemble. Her theatre performances have earned her two Dramalogue Awards and a NAACP Award nomination.

April has appeared in numerous films including "Safe," "Twilight," "Playing By Heart," "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence," "Finding Forrester" and "The Assassination Of Richard Nixon." She also appeared in the film "Magnolia," a film that earned her rave reviews.

April's tv guest appearances include "China Beach," "NYPD Blue," "Murder One," "The X Files," "Boston Public," "The Shield," "The Sentinel," "Touched By an Angel," "Strong Medicine," "Without A Trace," "Any Day Now" and "Lost." She’s had recurring roles in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Chicago Hope," "Family Law" and "Joan Of Arcadia." April starred in the pilot episode of the NBC series "Medium" and she was a regular in the short lived series "The Beast."
