Aunjanue Ellis studied acting in the graduate drama program at New York University after receiving her B.A. in African-American studies from Brown University. She made her Broadway debut in George C. Wolfe's "The Tempest" which began as a Shakespeare in the Park production. She also made a return to Shakespeare as Hermione, Queen of Sicily, in "The Winter's Tale."
Aunjanue’s film credits include "The Caveman's Valentine," "Men Of Honor," "Girls Town," "Undercover Brother" and "Ray."
Aunjanue had recurring roles in such tv shows as "The Practice," "Third Watch" and "100 Centre Street."
She was a regular in the tv series "High Incident," "MDs," "Jonny Zero" and "E-Ring."
