Donzaleigh Abernathy is the youngest daughter of the late civil rights leader Reverend Ralph David Abernathy.

An accomplished actress Donzaleigh’s film credits include "Night of the Running Man," "Lone Justice" and "Gods & Generals." Her telefilm credits include "Murder In Mississippi," "Family Album," "Miss Evers Boys" and "Don King: Only In America."

Donzaleigh has guest starred in various tv shows including "L.A. Law," "The Pretender," "NYPD Blue," "Chicago Hope," "24" and "House." She had a recurring roles in "Dangerous Minds" and "Commander In Chief." Donzaleigh portrayed Lorraine Toussaint’s mom in the Lifetime tv series "Any Day Now."

Donzaleigh is a founding member and current vice-president of the Board of Trustees for the New Road Schools, a spin-off of the Crossroads School in Santa Monica, Calif., which promotes cultural, racial, and economic diversity. In addition to acting, Donzaleigh is the author of a book called "Partners to History: Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph David Abernathy, and the Civil Rights Movement." This book details the history of the Civil Rights movement via photographs and the words of the people who spoke them.
