Gabrielle Union was born on October 29, 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska. She participated in various sports in high school and played on the University of Nebraska soccer team. She has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from U.C.L.A.

After she started interning at a modeling agency she was encouraged to try acting. She eventually guest starred in various tv shows such as "Moesha," "Goode Behavior," "7th Heaven," "Sister, Sister" and more recently "The West Wing." She was also a regular in the short lived tv series "City of Angels." Gabrielle was the first African American love interest for a cast member in the tv show "Friends." Gabrielle recently starred in the short lived ABC series "Nightstalker."

Gabrielle made her feature film debut in "She's All That." She has gone on to star in "Bring It On," "The Brothers," "Abandon" and "Bad Boys II." Gabrielle recently separated from her husband former NFL player Chris Howard.
