Juanita Moore was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 19, 1922.
A former Cotton Club chorus girl she began her film career as an extra. She made her feature film debut in "Pinky." Juanita would land mostly roles as domestics in films such as "Queen Bee," "Affair In Trinidad," "The Opposite Sex" and "Band of Angels." It was her role as Annie Johnson in the remake "Imitation Of Life" that would earn Juanita Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress in 1959.
Other film roles include "Tammy Tell Me True," "Papa’s Delicate Condition," "The Singing Nun," "The Whole World Is Watching," "The Mack," "Thomasine & Bushrod" and "Abby."
