Karyn Parsons was born in Chicago, IL on August 9, 1968. The daughter of a black mother and white father, she grew up in Santa Monica, CA.

Karyn's tv guest appearances include "The Bronx Zoo," "Hunter," "The John Larroquette Show," "Linc's," "Blossom" and "Melrose Place." But it was her regular stint as the spoiled, self centered Hilary Banks in the hit tv show "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" that gave her worldwide exposure. She starred in the show from 1990 to 1996. Karyn would later co-produce and star in the short lived FOX tv series "Lush Life" and she also starred in "The Job" with Denis Leary and Bill Nunn.

Karynís film credits include "Class Act," "Major Payne," "Mixing Nia" and "13 Moons."

Karyn has her own production company, Bamboozled Goliwogg, Inc. and she's currently developing film and television projects. She also manages the website Sweetblackberry: Stories For The Soul, an educational website for parents and children of color. She enjoys dancing, horseback riding and fencing.

Karyn married director Alexandre Rockwell in 2003 and they have one child.
