Lorraine Toussaint was born on April 4, 1960 in Trinidad. She moved to New York with her family when she was 10 years old. She graduated from the High School of the Performing Arts and Julliard where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama.

Lorraine has made guest appearances in "A Man Called Hawk," "Law & Order," "Murder One," "Frasier," "Judging Amy" and "Numb3rs." She was a series regular in "Bodies of Evidence," "Amazing Grace" and the critically acclaimed Lifetime tv series "Any Day Now." Lorraine had recurring roles in the NBC series "Crossing Jordan," the ABC series "Threat Matrix" and "The Closer."
