Naomie Harris was born in London, England on September 6, 1976.

She trained at the prestigious Anna Scher Theatre school where she learned acting, dancing and singing and later she was chosen to join the school's prized Young Professionals group. Naomie made her professional acting debut at the age of nine in the BBC children's series "Simon and the Witch." She would later appear as a series regular in the British television shows "Runaway Bay" and "The Tomorrow People."

Naomie took time off from acting to attend Cambridge University where she received a degree in Social & Political Science. After graduation she spent two years at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
She would eventually land roles in such films as "Living In Hope" and "Anansi." Two projects which have catapulted Naomie’s career are the BBC television movie "White Teeth," based on the best-selling acclaimed novel by Zadie Smith and the much talked about film "28 Days Later." This film was released in 2002 in Great Britain and became a sleeper summer hit for 2003 in the United States.
