Napiera Groves was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 17, 1975. She attended a performing arts school from junior high through high school where she was involved in acting, singing and dancing. Napiera received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University. While attending Howard she was crowned Miss District of Columbia. She was named Miss Congeniality in the 1997 Miss USA Pageant.

Napiera's stage work includes “As You Like It,” “Jelly’s Last Jam,” “Oliver!,” “Bright Lights, Big City” at the New York Theater Workshop and the national tour of “Dreamgirls.”

Napiera’s film appearances include “Airborne,” “Sacred Is The Flesh” and HBO’s “Don King: Only in America.”

Napiera’s has guest starred in “Eve,” “Numb3rs,” “Without A Trace” and “How I Met Your Mother.” Napiera joined the cast of the daytime drama “As the World Turns” on August 23, 2001 in the role of Bonnie McKechnie, the daughter of Jessica Griffin and Duncan McKechnie. She left the show in 2003.
