N’Bushe Wright was born in 1970 and grew up in the Bed-Stuy area of New York. Her father is a jazz musician and her mother is a pyschologist for the Board of Education.

As a teenager, N'Bushe attended the High School for Performing Arts in Manhattan. She began her career in dance while training with Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham. She eventually studied acting at Stella Adler’s studio in New York. After a year there she auditioned for and got the lead female role of Nikki in the film "Zebrahead."

N’Bushe has gone on to star in "Fresh," "Dead Presidents," "Blade" and "Civil Brand."

N'Bushe had recurring roles in "I’ll Fly Away," "New York Undercover" and "UC Undercover." She's made guest appearances in "Homicide: Life On The Street," "Third Watch," "Law & Order" and "American Gothic." N'Bushe starred in the four part tv series "Widows" and the short lived series "Platinum."
