'Soul Food' Actors Have Baby
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker have more on their plate than just "Soul Food."
Parker gave birth to the couple's first child, Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe, on Saturday, publicist Jessica Cohen said in a statement Wednesday. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces.
Tei-Naaki is Ghanian for "first-born daughter," the statement said.
Kodjoe played Damon Carter and Parker was Teri Joseph on "Soul Food," which ran on the Showtime cable channel from 2000-2004.
They plan to wed in May, their publicist said.

'Soul Food' Actors
Get Engaged

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Actors Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Parker, stars of the
Showtime series "Soul Food," are engaged, their publicist said.
Kodjoe, 31, proposed to Parker, 33, June 20 in his hometown of Freiburg,
Germany, publicist Alejandra Cristina said.
They plan to marry next spring, she said.
The couple met on the set of "Soul Food," which recently ended after
five seasons. The show was based on the 1997 hit film of the same name and
was television's longest-running black drama.
They both appeared in the film "Brown Sugar" and will next star in
the sitcom, "Second Time Around," which will air on UPN this fall.
