Pam Grier was born on May 26, 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Pam made her feature film debut in the movie "Beyond The Valley of the Dolls." Her breakout role was the movie "Coffy." Pam became the Queen of blaxploitation films and became a cult figure after appearing in "Foxy Brown." She continued acting in tv and films throughout the 70's and 80's.
In the 1980's she made guest appearances in various tv shows such as "Miami Vice," "Night Court" and "Crime Story." In the 1990's she appeared in such films as "Mars Attacks!," "Posse" and "Original Gangstas" but it was the title role in Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown" that sealed her comeback. Her role in "Jackie Brown" earned Pam a Golden Globe Best Actress nomination.
During the 1990's Pam has guest starred in various tv shows including "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air," "For Your Love," "Justice League" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Pam currently stars in the Showtime series "The L Word."
