Rashida Jones was born on February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles, California. She's the daughter of award winning composer Quincy Jones and former "Mod Squad" actress Peggy Lipton. Her older sister is actress Kidada Jones.

Rashida graduated from Harvard University in 1997 where she studied acting and appeared in such stage productions as "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf" and "Dancing At Lughnasa."

Rashida guest starred in the tv series "Freaks & Geeks" and made her film debut in "Myth America." Rashida was a series regular in the tv series "Boston Public" as Louisa for two years and she starred in the British tv series "Nylon." Rashida currently stars in the TNT series "Wanted."

Rashida's the former girlfriend of actor Tobey Maguire and New York DJ Mark Ronson.
