Regina King was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 15, 1971.

Regina made her acting debut as a tv series regular in "227." She played Brenda Jenkins and her parents were portrayed by Marla Gibbs and Hal Williams. Her tv guest appearances include "Northern Nights," "New York Undercover" and "Living Single." Regina was also a series regular in the short lived "Leap Of Faith." She had a recurring role in "24" as Sandra Palmer and she currently stars in the TNT series "Southland."

Regina made her film debut in John Singleton's "Boyz in the Hood." Regina went on to appear in such films as "Jerry Maguire," "Higher Learning," "Enemy of the State," "Down To Earth" and "Daddy Day Care."

Regina has a son, Ian Anderson, Jr. with her ex-husband Ian Alexander.
