Regina Taylor was born in Dallas, Texas on August 22. She appeared in the television movie "Crisis at Central High" while she was a student at Southern Methodist University.
Regina's appeared in numerous Broadway, Off Broadway and regional productions. She was the first black woman to play Juliet in "Romeo & Juliet" on Broadway.
Her best known work was as a series regular in the critically acclaimed tv series "I’ll Fly Away." She earned a Best Lead Dramatic Actress Golden Globe Award and an NAACP Image Award. Regina was a series regular in the "The Education of Max Bickford" and she currently stars in the CBS series "The Unit."
Regina’s telefilm credits include "Children of the Dust" and "Strange Justice" in which she portrayed Anita Hill. Her feature film credits include "Lean On Me," "Losing Isaiah," "Clockers" and "Courage Under Fire."
Regina, playwright and director, is a Distinguished Artistic Associate at Chicago’s Goodman Theater.
