Robin Givens was born in New York City on November 27, 1964. The oldest daughter of Ruth and Reuben Givens, Robin started acting classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. In 1980, at the age of fifteen, Robin enrolled as a freshman at Sarah Lawrence College to study pre-med.

Robin landed guest appearances in the daytime dramas "The Guiding Light" and "Loving." Her tv guest appearances include "The Cosby Show," "Different Strokes" and "Moesha." She had recurring roles in "In The House" and she was a series regular in "Head Of The Class," "Sparks" "Angel Street" and "Courthouse." Robin also hosted the daytime talk show "Forgive Or Forget."

Robin has appeared in such feature films and telefilms including "Beverly Hills Madam," "The Women Of Brewster Place," "A Rage In Harlem," "Foreign Student" and "Antibody."

Robin has been married twice: to boxer Mike Tyson from 1988 to 1989 and her tennis instructor Svetozar Marinkovic in 1997. She filed for divorce months later. Robin is also the mother of two children.
