Salli Richardson was born on November 23, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother is African American and her father is Irish American.

Salli made her acting debut in the movie "Up Against The Wall." She has also appeared in "Posse," "Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored," "The Great White Hype" and the Denzel Washington directed film "Antwone Fisher."

Salli has made guest appearances in such tv shows as "Roc," "Between Brothers," "The Jamie Foxx Show," "NYPD Blue" and "House." She had recurring roles in "Rude Awakening" and "C.S.I.: Miami" and was a series regular in "Mercy Point" and "Family Law." Salli also provided the voice of Elisa Maza in the animated series "Gargoyles." Salli currently stars in the SCI-FI original series "Eureka."

On September 8, 2002, Salli married actor Dondre Whitfield and they have a daughter Parker Richardson.
