Tichina Arnold was born in Queens, New York on June 28, 1971. She made her stage debut in "The Me Nobody Knows" at Brooklyn's Billie Holiday Theatre, followed by "Hair," "Romance and Hard Times," and "Haggadah" at The Joseph Papp Theatre. In 2004 she toured in the lead role of the musical hit "If These Hips Could Talk."

Tichina made her feature film debut in "Little Shop of Horrors." She’s also appeared in "Big Momma’s House," "Dancing in September," "Civil Brand," "Scenes From a Mall," "Preaching to the Choir" and "Getting Played." Her telefilm credits include "The Brass Ring," "Perfect Prey" and "House of Dies Drear."

Tichina has guest starred in "The Cosby Show," "Law & Order," "Pacific Blue," "Soul Food," "The Jamie Foxx Show" and "The Norm Show." She was a regular in the daytime dramas "Ryan’s Hope" and "All My Children." She had a recurring role in the UPN series "One on One." Tichina is best remembered for her role as Pam in the hit FOX series "Martin" and she currently stars in the CW series "Everybody Hates Chris."

Tichina lives in Los Angeles with her daughter Alijah Kai.
