Tracie Thoms was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 19, 1975. She became interested in acting by the age of 9. After graduation from high school she attended Howard University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a graduate degree in acting from Julliard.

Tracie's stage work include “The Oedipus Plays” at The Shakespeare Theater, “Up Against the Wind” (New York Theatre Workshop), “A Raisin in the Sun” (Baltimore Center Stage), Joe Turner’s “Come and Gone” (Missouri Rep) and “The Exonerated” at The Culture Project - Off-Broadway. She made her Broadway debut in 2004 in “Drowning Crow,” opposite Alfre Woodard.

Tracie’s film credits include “The Warrior Class,” “Brother To Brother,” “Rent” and the upcoming “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Tracie has guest starred in such tv shows as “The Shield” and “Law & Order.” She was a series regular in “As If,” “Wonderfalls” and she recently joined the cast of the CBS series “Cold Case.”
