Troy Beyer was born on November 7, 1964. She started out on "Sesame Street" at the age of 4. After spending 7 years on that show she left New York City to live with her father in Idaho. Troy attended college in New York, studying both acting and psychobiology.

In 1986 Troy starred in the nighttime tv drama "Dynasty" as Diahann Carroll’s daughter Jackie. Her tv guest appearances include "Knots Landing," "A Different World," "The Cosby Show," "Walker, Texas Ranger" and she had a recurring role in "Murder One."

Troy’s film credits include "Rooftops," "The White Girl," "The Five Heartbeats," "Eddie" and "John Q."

Besides acting Troy is also an accomplished writer and director. She wrote the screenplay for the Halle Berry film "B*A*P*S." Troy also wrote the screenplay and directed "Let’s Talk About Sex" and "Love Don't Cost A Thing" starring Nick Cannon and Christina Milian.
