Stage, screen and television star Vanessa Bell Calloway was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 20, 1957. She attended Ohio University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in dance. Her dancing skills helped her in her training with Alvin Ailey, George Faison and Otis Sallid.

Vanessa has guest starred in numerous television shows including "In The Heat Of The Night," "227," "Equal Justice," "A Different World," "Prey," "CSI: Miami," "The Division" and "The Parkers." She had recurring roles in "Dream On," "Boston Public," "1st and Ten," "10-8: Officers on Duty," "The District" and she starred in the daytime dramas "Days Of Our Lives" and "All My Children" where she became very well known in her role as Yvonne Caldwell. Vanessa was a series regular in "Rhythm & Blues," "Under One Roof," "Orleans" and she co-hosted the BET talk show "Oh Drama."

Vanessa's telefilm and feature films credits include "Coming To America," "Polly," "Stompin At The Savoy," "What’s Love Got To Do With It," "Crimson Tide," "The Brothers" and "Biker Boyz."

Vanessa lives in Los Angeles and she’s married to Dr. Anthony Calloway, an anesthesiologist. They have two daughters Ashley and Alexandra.
